Maincast, a Ukrainian media company owned by well-known investor Maksym Krippa has launched two new TV channels. They will be broadcast via OTT services and cable networks, expanding the possibilities of consuming high-quality Ukrainian content. Bestgamer.net publication reports that the decision to launch the channels was made during the National Council of Television and Radio Broadcasting meeting on November 7, 2024.
The new channels – Maincast Sport and Maincast – are designed to meet the needs of a broad audience. Maincast Sport will specialize in sports broadcasts, including international championships featuring Ukrainian athletes. In turn, Maincast will offer entertaining video content for the whole family.
Maksym Krippa’s media investments
Businessman Maksym Krippa, known for his projects in IT and esports, continues to develop the media sector. His companies, NAVI and GSC Game World have already achieved significant success, and the launch of Maincast and Maincast Sport TV channels will be another step toward expanding the influence of Ukrainian content internationally.
The new TV channels offer high-quality sports and entertainment programs that will contribute to the development of the media industry in Ukraine and open up new opportunities for viewers and partners.
Primary focus on Ukrainian content
Both channels will operate 24/7 and broadcast exclusively in Ukrainian. This approach aims to support the Ukrainian-language media product, which is gaining popularity in the country and abroad. In addition, the company announced the creation of its own OTT platform, Maincast.tv, which will become a hub for sports content.
According to Vitaliy Volochai, the company’s co-founder, the development of the media industry and esports in Ukraine requires investment in high-quality content and support for the national language. Maincast aims to strengthen Ukraine’s position as a leader in the esports segment and sports broadcasts through this project.
Channel development strategy
The channel’s launch is scheduled for November 30, 2024. In the first stage, access to the content will be open, attracting the maximum number of viewers. We plan to introduce a paywall model for premium content in the future. The main goal of the first year of operation is to popularize new channels and expand the audience, not to make an immediate profit.
